Cross up at the Lumberyard recap video

Cross up at The Lumberyard

I received an e-mail from Amanda that James Wilson had finished the video recap on the cross up event she held at The Lumberyard a few weeks back. This video will speak for itself if you happened to miss this awesome event! Thanks again Amanda for hosting all these awesome Backyard Blam events!

Saltzman to Skyline

Here are a few photos I took while we were on our ride yesterday. Jason, Josh, Justin, Kyle and myself rode up Saltzman to head up to skyline and play around in the west hills. Big ups to Justin for holding it down with the Single speed . My hat is off to you sir!

The Rose Garden Circuit Race

Now I have never really been interested in road racing but this looks like fun…and by fun I mean a brutal time! I think I am going to make this series my introduction to racing on the road. I have become very fond of the west hills and know the pain they can bring. So who is with me?

More Very Important Details

Please take the following three points seriously, our continued enjoyment of this venue depends on it.
Washington Park is a public park – It will remain open to the public during this event. The race ONLY has permission to close down the streets during this event. DO NOT block walkways, sidewalks or any other path that may inhibit park guests from also enjoying the park while we are there. We will do our best to have volunteers to help direct park foot traffic around and through the course, but please also help any park goers you may see to keep things safe.
Respect the Neighbors – Washington Park and the race course is surrounded on the North side by the Arlington Heights Neighborhood. They have been subject to many unauthorized “races” that disrupt the park and their neighborhood. Please think about this while attending the event. Use the provided toilets, don’t park in front of their houses, drive slowly through their neighborhood and please try and stay quiet when coming and going. Also, please pick up your trash and leave the park better than you found it.
Parking is limited, please ride there – The race course is taking up one of the parking lots and some street parking at the rose garden. This will limit the amount of parking that is available for regular park visitors and race participants. If you are coming from the Portland area, please think about riding to the event or taking mass transit. If you are coming from out of town, please try to carpool.
Directions

The main entrance to Washington Park via Park Ave may be backed up because of the course detours we will have in place. If riding your bike, feel free to ride up Park Ave. or take the MAX up to the Zoo and ride down through the park.
Please use these recommended routes if you are driving:
From downtown take W Burnside St. west and turn left on SW Tichner Dr then right on Kingston Ave.
From the west side, please exit from Hwy 26 at Sylvan and take SW Skyline north to SW Fairview and then right on Kingston Ave.
From I-5 North, take I-405 North and take the A2-Salmon St exit. Continue north on 14th Ave then turn left on Burnside. Turn left on SW Tichner Dr then right on Kingston Ave.
From I-5 South, take I-405 South and take the A2-Couch St exit. Turn right on Burnside, left on SW Tichner Dr then right on Kingston Ave.
Please park by the tennis courts or the parking lot on the west side of the street by the Japanese Garden sign.
